The Fifth Annual South Beach Jazz Festival opened Friday, Jan. 3 with headliner David Sanborn at the Colony Theatre, Miami Beach. Miami Beach dignitaries were on hand to present proclamations.
This is the fourth year for the Jazz Festival, which continued through Sunday, Jan. 5.

The South Beach Jazz Festival is made possible with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners.
