The Harden Project is where the spirit of music meets the spirit of love. Formed by vocalist, composer, and author Ja’Nia Harden and musician, composer, and arranger John Harden, the duo brings undeniable chemistry and artistry to every performance. Their music is an intimate conversation— skillful, fearless, and overflowing with soul.

Drawing inspiration from legends such as Bobby McFerrin, Dinah Washington, Al Jarreau, Jimmy Smith, Robert Glasper, Soulive, André 3000, Ella Fitzgerald, Chaka Khan, Rufus, and Bobby Floyd, The Harden Project blends these influences with their own life experiences. The result is a sound that is soulful, groovy, and at times enchanting—always rooted in authenticity and vulnerability.

Together and individually, they have shared the stage with iconic artists including Lalah Hathaway, Stephanie Mills, Anthony Hamilton, the Marley Family, Patti LaBelle, and many more.
